Holler Coffee is a husband and wife micro-roastery located in Central New York. We source our coffees from around the world and all of our coffees are roasted to order. With a focus on freshness and quality, all coffee that leaves our store includes a roast date, and every bean is roasted with an emphasis on maximizing the coffee's natural flavor profile.

COOL NAME, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Although Holler Coffee was born at a kitchen table in Salem, MA, it was raised in the Mohawk Valley. Yes, Holler Coffee is a native New Yorker but not all of New York is created equally. Most upstate folk would likely have more in common with the hollers of West Virginia than the bright lights of Times Square - thus Holler Coffee is paying homage to the working class valleys of its homeland.
HOW DO YOU FLAVOR YOUR COFFEES?
We don't. The tasting notes that are provided for each coffee offering are a representation of the natural flavor of that specific coffee. Just like wine, different geographic regions and terroir will yield different organic tasting notes - think fruit-forward for Ethiopia, and nutty for Brazil. Every craft roaster's goal is to roast in a way that maximizes the unique tasting notes of each coffee they roast.

ARE YOUR COFFEES ORGANIC?
The best coffees in the world tend to grow in the most dangerous places, with that these countries tend to be some of the most impoverished as well. The cost associated with acquiring the demarcation of being certified organic is typically not realistic for many of the world's farmers. With that being said, all of the coffees we offer have been farmed using organic methods, but many do not have the means available to be labeled as such.
ARE YOUR COFFEES FAIR-TRADE CERTIFIED?
Fair-Trade agreements have certainly helped many farmers across different regions in the world, but continues to be a controversial issue and a point of contention for many of the world's farmers. Many would argue Fair Trade is a band-aid at best, and a public relations move at worst. Holler Coffee is proud to partner with importers that have been able to go beyond fair-trade and into direct-trade, eliminating the middle man and purchasing coffee directly from the farmer, and in turn creating lasting relationships that are beneficial for not only the seller, but also the buyer. This is something we hold dear and do not intend on ever wavering from.
