  • About Sugarcane Decaf-Processed Coffee

Valle del Cauca is located in a biological Conservation Corridor between the National Park of Tatama and "Serrania de los Paraguas". Over time this region has been identified by Conservation International as one of the two main conservation corridors in Colombia. Farmers in this region are keenly aware of the importance of the preservation of natural resources, water management and friendly environmental practices, which has lead to progressive and alternative ways to decaffeinate their coffees beyond using harsh chemicals and procedures.

Our Valle del Cauca Excelso was decaffeinated in Colombia using ethyl acetate - an organic compound derived from sugar cane - to remove 97% of the caffeine from coffee beans. The process tends to leave a pleasantly sugary flavor resulting in a delicious coffee (not just a delicious decaf coffee) that will satisfy even the most discerning coffee drinker.

Perfect for fussy folk, those who are expecting, or those who simply need to chill out!
